Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. milk
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar and vanilla.
Add egg and beat until fluffy.
Stir in milk.
Sift other dry ingredients together and blend into creamed mixture.
Divide dough in half and chill 1 hour.
On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/8-inch thickness.
Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375\u00b0 about 6 to 8 minutes.
Makes 2 dozen.
