Ingredients

1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. chopped peanuts
1 (7 1/2 oz.) pkg. almond brickle baking chips
1/4 c. sugar
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
In large bowl, combine brown sugar, powdered sugar, margarine and shortening; beat until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla and egg; blend well.
Spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
Add flours, baking soda, salt and cream of tartar.
Blend at low speed until well mixed.
Stir in peanuts and almond chips.
Shape heaping tablespoons into balls (using dough).
Roll in sugar.
