Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
3 2/3 c. flour
1 c. butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. milk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. dried currants
Preparation

Into large bowl, measure sugar and remaining ingredients, except the currants.
With mixer at medium speed, beat ingredients until well mixed, occasionally scraping bowl.
Stir in currants. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
