Brown Bread(Yields 3 Cans Or 2 Loaves) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. seedless raisins
    1 3/4 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cook raisins in water for 5 minutes; cool.
    Cream shortening and sugar; beat in egg.
    Add raisin mixture.
    Sift flour, soda and salt together.
    Add to raisin mixture.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour in cans or loaf pans.
