Gumdrop Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. lard
2 c. raisins
2 c. hot water
1 tsp. each: allspice, cloves, cinnamon and salt
1 jar maraschino cherries
8 oz. walnuts
2 lb. gumdrops (red and green only)
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Take juice from cherries; add with water to make 2 cups.
Put in pan along with sugar, lard and raisins. Bring to boil; cool. Add eggs and rest of ingredients. Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0. Makes 2 or 3 loaves.
