Uncooked Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. tomatoes, peeled and cored (1/2 round, 1/2 plum type)
    1 medium onion, peeled and diced
    2 cloves garlic, peeled and quartered
    1/3 c. fresh basil, chopped or 1 1/2 Tbsp. dried, crumbled leaf
    1/3 c. olive or salad oil
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Chop tomatoes, onion, garlic and basil finely.
    Add oil, salt and pepper.
    Let stand 1 hour to use fresh, or pack into containers and freeze.
    Before serving, heat, stirring.
    Adjust seasoning.
    Makes about 5 cups.
