Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 cups flour
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 pint buttermilk or sour milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt and baking soda into a bowl. Mix to a loose dough with the well soured milk. Turn out on to a floured board and knead lightly until the underside is smooth. Turn the smooth side up. Place in a well heated, greased, 8-inch cast iron pot. Make a cross on top with a floured knife. Cover with lid. Bake in a 375-400 degree oven for about 40 minutes. Alternatively, a baking sheet may be used instead of an iron pot.
