Crisp Pastel Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening (part butter)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. jelly (any flavor)
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, jello, egg and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients.
    Roll dough into 3/4-inch balls.
    Place 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
    Flatten each with glass bottom dipped in sugar.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
    Makes 4 dozen cookies.
