Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
Preparation

Mix the first 4 ingredients.
Stir in the remaining ingredients.
Chill dough.
Roll into balls.
Dip tablespoon in sugar.
Place on greased sheet.
Sprinkle with 2 to 3 drops of water.
Bake for 10 minutes at 375\u00b0.
