Lunch Box Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine or butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3 c. crispy rice cereal
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    In large bowl combine margarine and shortening.
    Add sugar, egg and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
    Stir in flour and baking soda.
    Stir in cereal, mix well.
    Drop by level tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
    Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
    Let cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet.
    Nuts are optional.
    Makes 6 dozen.
