Ingredients

3 c. plain flour
1 c. cornmeal
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. raisins or pecans
Preparation

Cream together shortening and sugar.
Beat until creamy.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add extract and blend in dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
Add raisins or pecans last.
Roll into small balls, place on a greased cookie sheet and flatten with bottom of glass which has been dipped in cornmeal.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
