1 lb. almonds
1 lb. butter or margarine
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. almond or vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking powder
approximately 5 to 6 c. flour
confectioners sugar
Preparation

Preheat oven to
350\u00b0.\tBlanch\talmonds
in
water; add baking soda to remove skin.
Put in blender a little at a time to\tchop very
fine.
Mix
almonds,\tbutter\tand
sugar
until smooth.
Add extract and baking powder.\tMix flour into batter a little at a time until mixture is easy to work with by hand. Shape into 1 inch balls and flatten into crescent shape.
Bake on cookie sheet until light
brown
on bottom, about 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool cookies, then coat with powdered sugar.
Store in airtight container.
Can be frozen for storage.
