Persimmon Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. persimmon pulp
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. sugar or 1/2 white and 1/2 brown
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 c. nuts
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar or sugars, then add eggs and pulp. Mix flour, salt and soda along with spices.
    Add to liquid ingredients, then add nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes or until done.
    Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
