Ingredients

1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 Tbsp. milk
1 c. chocolate chips (6 oz.)
1 c. nuts
Preparation

Combine flour and baking soda and set aside.
Use an electric mixer or a good strong spoon to cream butter.
Add vanilla and sugars and beat or stir until fluffy.
Beat or stir in egg if using an electric mixer.
Beat at low speed, then beat in cocoa, then add milk.
With a big spoon, mix in dry ingredients until blended. Stir in chips and nuts.
Drop by rounded teaspoon on nonstick baking sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 13 minutes.
