Chew Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter or margarine (no Shedd's Spread)
    1 box light brown sugar
    3 eggs
    2 c. self-rising flour, sifted
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts (pecans best), chopped (optional)
Preparation
    Mix and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes in greased 8 x 12-inch pan.
    Cool in pan.
    Cut into squares and store in airtight container.
