Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter, softened
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. mashed bananas (4 medium bananas)
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 heaping tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    3/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla.
    Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
    Add to banana mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
    Add nuts, if desired, and mix.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
    If top becomes brown before bread is done, lower oven temperature to 300\u00b0 and bake until done.
    Makes 1 loaf.
