Ingredients

1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. confectioners sugar
1 c. vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. lemon extract
4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
additional sugar
Preparation

In large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugars and oil.
Beat in eggs and extract.
Combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; stir into creamed mixture (dough will be stiff).
Roll into 1-inch balls.
Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Press with bottom of a glass dipped in water, then sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Makes 11 dozen.
