French Butter Cream Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. softened butter
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine first 7 ingredients until well blended, then gradually add flour until all mixed in.
    Chill dough for 30 minutes.
    Shape dough into 3/4-inch balls.
    Place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten balls with fork.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 5 to 8 minutes until set, but not brown.
    Remove from oven and let stand for at least 1 minute.
    Remove from cookie sheet and cool on rack.
    Makes 4 dozen.
