1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. sweet butter, softened
1 egg
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. raisins
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
In a mixing bowl cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg.
Combine flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Mix the molasses with the buttermilk. Add molasses mixture alternately with the flour to the creamed sugar and butter.
Stir in raisins.
Drop by teaspoon approximately 1 inch apart onto a greased baking sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
