Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. mashed bananas
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    In a small bowl, sift dry ingredients.
    In a separate bowl, cream shortening and sugar.
    Blend in eggs and mix well.
    Blend in sifted dry ingredients, then fold in bananas and nuts.
    Pour into a greased loaf pan.
    Push batter up in corners, leaving center slightly hollow for a well rounded loaf.
    Allow to stand for 20 minutes before baking.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0 and bake 60 to 70 minutes.
    Remove from pan and let cool.
