Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. lard
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. blanched almonds, sliced
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. soda
3 c. flour
Preparation

Cream the sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and mix.
Add flour, sifted with baking powder, soda and spices.
Add nuts.
Mold into loaf; wrap in wax paper and chill overnight.
Slice thin and bake in hot oven (400\u00b0) for 8 minutes.
Yields 68 cookies.
