Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in flour, salt, soda and nuts.
Shape dough into rolls 1 1/2-inches in diameter. Wrap and chill at least 4 hours.
Slice cookies 1/4-inch wide and place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Immediately remove from baking sheet and cool.
