White Loaf Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. warm water
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 tsp. salt
    3 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Measure the water in a large bowl.
    Sprinkle in the yeast and stir until dissolved.
    Add sugar, Crisco shortening, salt and half the flour.
    Beat well.
    Add remaining flour and blend until smooth. Scrape batter from side of bowl; cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm place until double in bulk.
    Stir down the batter and spread evenly in a greased loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch).
    Batter will be sticky.
    Let rise in warm place until batter reaches 1-inch from top of pan.
    Bake in moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 45 to 50 minutes or until brown.
