Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
12 oz. chocolate chips
Preparation

Blend shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients.
(For a softer, rounder cookie, add 1/2 cup flour.) Drop by teaspoon 2-inches apart on cookie sheet and bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool slightly before taking from cookie sheet.
