Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation

Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and beat well.
Add molasses. Sift flour with baking soda and spices.
Beat well.
Place in refrigerator to cool.
Then drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
Dip a fork into sugar and flatten cookie in a crosshatch design.
Bake 7 to 10 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
Cool.
