Milk And Honey White Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 (1/4 oz.) pkg. active dry yeast
2 1/2 c. warm milk
1/2 c. honey
1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
2 tsp. salt
8 to 8 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation
-
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add honey, butter, salt and 5 cups of flour; beat until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to form a soft-ball of dough. Turn onto a floured board; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6 or 8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl and grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. Punch down and shape into loaves. Place in greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Yields 2 loaves.
