Nancy'S Syrian Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. anise seed
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. milk
    2 sticks melted butter
    1 pkg. yeast
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Stir first 4 ingredients.
    Mix together milk and butter. Make sure this mixture is good and warm but not too hot as to kill the yeast.
    Add yeast.
    Mix together.
    Pour warmed liquid mixture into flour mixture.
    Stir well and add eggs.
    Mix together well. Knead together well (about 7 to 8 minutes).
    Let mixture rise in bowl for 2 hours.
    Roll out and cut into symmetrical strips. Place in greased pan.
    Cover with a damp cloth for 30 minutes. Pat down to 1/2-inch high.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 until bottoms turn brown. Place under broiler to brown tops.
    Watch closely as to not burn.
