Burnt Sugar Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. cream
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. chopped nut meats
Preparation
    Boil the first 2 ingredients until the soft ball stage. During the time this is boiling, burn 1 cup of sugar.
    Put the burnt sugar into the boiling mixture and continue boiling until well done.
    Beat until it begins to stiffen.
    Add nut meats.
    Pour onto a buttered plate.
    Top with halves of nut meats.
    Cool and cut in 2-inch squares.
