1 c. softened butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 Tbsp. sour cream
1/2 tsp. almond extract
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. soda
2/3 c. slivered almonds
Preparation

Cream the butter.
Gradually add sugar; mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Stir in sour cream and almond.
Combine dry ingredients.
Add to creamed mixture. Stir in almonds.
Divide dough into thirds.
Shape each portion into a 10-inch log.
Flatten log to 1/2 inch thick.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
Cut diagonally into 1/2-inch slices.
Put cut side down on cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes; cool.
