Norwegian Julekar(Christmas Bread) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 lb. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. yeast in 1/2 c. warm water
    3 c. unsifted flour
    2 tsp. ground cardamom
    2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 c. candied cherries
    candied pineapple
    1 1/2 c. raisins
    4 to 5 c. flour (enough to make a soft dough)
Preparation
    Scald milk.
    Add sugar, butter and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast mix and 3 cups flour.
    Let rise 1 hour.
    Add cardamom and beaten eggs.
    Mix candied fruit and raisins with 1/4 cup flour. Add to dough. Add just enough flour to handle.
    Knead dough well on floured surface. Let rise until light.
