Apricot Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. finely cut dried apricots
    warm water
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg
    1/2 c. orange juice
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Soak apricots in warm water for 30 minutes.
    Beat sugar, shortening, egg and 1/4 cup water together; add orange.
    Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together.
    Combine liquid and dry ingredients.
    Blend in drained apricots and nuts.
    Pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour at 325\u00b0.
    Do not overbake.
