Apricot Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dried apricots, chopped
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. orange juice
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Soak dried fruit for 20 minutes in warm water.
    Cream together 1 cup sugar, shortening and egg.
    Stir in 1/4 cup sugar and the orange juice.
    Add dry ingredients; blend well.
    Drain apricots and stir into batter.
    Add nuts.
    Bake in greased and floured loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 65 minutes or until done.
    Makes 1 loaf.
