Blueberry-Orange Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    peel of 2 oranges
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water (about)
    2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
    2 eggs, well beaten
    3 c. flour, sifted
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. fresh or frozen blueberries
Preparation
    Boil together the orange peel, salt, sugar and 1 cup water to make a thin syrup, about 20 minutes.
    Cool and remove peel. Measure and add enough water to make 1 1/2 cups.
    Add melted shortening and eggs.
    Add flour with baking powder.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Gently fold in blueberries.
    Put into a well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake in a preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Turn out and cool on a rack.
