Homemade Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. warm water
    1 3/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
    2 pkg. active dry yeast
    7 c. sifted flour
    3 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Place water in mixing bowl and add yeast.
    Stir in 1 3/4 cups lukewarm water; add half of sifted flour, salt, sugar and shortening.
    Beat with spoon until smooth, batter falls from spoon in sheets.
    Using hands, mix in enough remaining flour until dough cleans bowl.
    Turn onto lightly floured board.
    Cover and let rest 15 minutes.
    Knead until smooth (about 10 minutes).
    Round up in greased bowl; bring greased side up.
    Let rise in warm place 1 hour or until double in size.
    Punch down and let rise 30 minutes more.
