Ingredients

1/4 c. light brown sugar
1 egg, separated
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sifted flour
1 jar jelly or jam
Preparation

Mix sugar, butter, egg yolk and flour together.
Form dough into little balls (size of walnut). Roll balls in slightly beaten egg white, then in nuts.
Place balls on greased baking sheet.
In each one, press thumbprint to make a hollow.
Bake 15 to 18 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Cool. Drop jelly or jam in center.
