Sandpaper Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    2 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. yellow cornmeal
Preparation
    Cream shortening until soft; add sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs and extract.
    Add dry ingredients; mix thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
