Margaret'S Fruit Cake Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. soda, dissolved in 3/4 c. water
    3 c. flour
    3 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 lb. dates
    1 lb. pecans
    1 lb. cherries
    1 lb. pineapple
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar. Add well beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients alternately with soda water, lemon juice and vanilla. Pour batter over fruit and nuts. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
