Sweet And Sour Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/4 c. catsup
    a couple drops red food coloring (if desired)
    1 tsp. soy sauce
    cornstarch
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except cornstarch in saucepan and bring to a boil. Take out some of the sauce (about 1/4 cup) and mix in about 1 tablespoon cornstarch until blended.
    Return cornstarch mixture to sauce in pan, blending well to thicken without lumps.
    If too thin, repeat cornstarch addition.
    Goes well with deep fried chicken, pork or shrimp.
