Penuche(Brown Sugar Fudge) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. corn syrup
    1 Tbsp. butter
    3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Combine sugar, salt, corn syrup, butter and milk.
    Cook until sugar dissolves; continue cooking on medium heat to soft ball stage*.
    Cool without stirring.
    Add vanilla and beat until thick and creamy.
    Pour in buttered pan; cool and cut in squares.
    Nuts may be added, if desired.
