Ingredients

1 c. melted Crisco (butter flavor)
2 sticks margarine
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/8 tsp. ginger
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
4 to 5 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation

Combine butter, Crisco, sugar and salt.
Beat well until light and fluffy.
Add eggs.
Beat 1 minute.
Blend in remaining ingredients.
Add 4 cups flour.
Blend last cup flour slowly.
You may not need it all.
Let chill overnight; roll out 1/8-inch thick and bake until light golden brown at 350\u00b0, about 8 to 10 minutes.
