Garlic Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. milk
5 Tbsp. shortening
5 to 6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1 Tbsp. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water and 1 tsp. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 c. margarine
Preparation

Scald milk.
Add shortening and sugar.
Add yeast when mixture is lukewarm. Add 3 cups flour; beat thoroughly. Set in warm place for 30 minutes or until dough raises.
Beat eggs, salt, onion and garlic.
Add to mixture along with remaining flour.
Knead until dough is no longer sticky.
Let raise until double in size.
Break into 2 pieces and place in a 9 x 9-inch pan.
Keep pieces separate.
Melt 1/2 cup margarine.
Take knife, dip in margarine and cut slices in dough.
Pour remaining margarine on dough. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
