Bread-And-Butter Zucchini Or Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large cucumber or 2 medium zucchini, sliced in 1/4-inch rounds (2 c.)
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced in rings (3/4 c.)
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. distilled white vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
    1/4 tsp. each celery seed and turmeric
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients in 2-quart glass bowl and microwave 7 to 9 minutes on High, stirring twice, until vegetables are crisp-tender and onion is translucent.
    Ladle into a hot, clean jar and cover.
    Cool slightly and refrigerate.
    Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
