Orange Refrigerator Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening *
1/2 c. butter *
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp. orange juice
1 Tbsp. orange rind
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1 c. pecans, finely chopped

Preparation

Stir together flour, soda, salt and baking powder.
In large bowl combine shortening, butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and egg.
Beat one minute.
Add orange juice, orange rind, lemon extract and pecans.
Mix well.
Add sifted dry ingredients.
Beat until blended.
Shape into rolls; chill.
Slice and put on greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
Can freeze.
