Scotch Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar, packed in cup
    1 egg yolk
    1 c. shortening (oleo)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour, sifted with 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix all together and add 1/2 cup nuts.
    Press into pan; the mixture will be stiff.
    Ice with caramel icing if you like.
    Bake for 20 minutes at 325\u00b0.
