Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. pitted dates, chopped
1 c. shredded coconut
1 c. walnuts
Preparation

Beat butter, egg and vanilla until smooth.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Gradually add flour mixture to creamed mixture; beat until blended.
Mix in dates, coconut and walnuts. Form into 2 (1 1/2-inch) rolls.
Wrap in wax paper.
Chill in freezer until firm, about 2 hours or up to a month.
Cut into 3/8-inch slices.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
Makes 5 dozen.
