Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. milk
    3/4 c. corn meal
    1 tsp. salt
    3 egg yolks
    3 egg whites
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Scald milk and butter.
    Gradually stir in corn meal and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Cool.
    Beat egg yolks. Stir into corn meal mixture.
    Fold beaten egg whites into corn meal mixture.
    Pour into a casserole dish.
    Set dish in a pan of water and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 1 3/4 hours or until a knife blade, when stuck in center of bread, comes out clean.
    Yields 6 servings.
