Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. cocoa
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Cream together the butter, sugar and egg. Stir in cocoa.
Add buttermilk, vanilla, flour and salt.
Mix well.
Chill dough 1 hour.
Drop onto cookie sheets by rounded teaspoonfuls.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400\u00b0.
After cookies cool, can be topped with your favorite chocolate frosting.
