Lemon Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    grated rind of 1 lemon (save the juice)
    2 unbeaten eggs
    1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
Preparation
    Bake in loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 60 minutes or until done.
    When fresh from oven, pour over 1/4 cup sugar mixed with the juice from the lemon.
