Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. molasses
1 c. sour milk
1 Tbsp. ginger
1 level Tbsp. soda
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
4 1/2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation

Combine sugar and shortening; beat until creamy.
Add molasses and sour milk, mixing well.
Combine ginger, soda, cinnamon and salt with flour and add gradually to creamy mixture, then add vinegar and mix well.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 for 12 to 20 minutes.
(Baking time and temperature will depend on your oven.)
Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
