Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. light brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 c. white sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. coconut
1 c. salad oil
2 Tbsp. vanilla
2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. Rice Krispies
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Mix butter and sugars by creaming until smooth.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add the other ingredients in the order listed and mix thoroughly.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until lightly browned, which is about 8 to 10 minutes.
